I used to struggle to start new projects, until a teacher explained to me about “task inertia”. This is when the desire to do something perfectly makes us so anxious that we can’t actually start. Since learning this, I have given myself permission to be messy and accept the imperfections of life. Willow weaving is great for this as there is a point in every project when it looks like a birds nest.
