Easy Trick: Open D Major Sus Embellishments Every guitarist learns this one... here's a super easy way to add some variety to your basic open-position D major chord. Add your pinky to the 3rd fret of the E, and you've got a Dsus4. Go back to your basic D major chord and remove your middle finger from the E string, and you've got Dsus2.
