Dandruff (seborrheic dermatitis) is very common and can lead to a dry or oily, flaky scalp. Washing hair more frequently can help treat dandruff. I recommend washing hair at least 2-3 times per week with a shampoo that contains tea tree oil, zinc, selenium sulfide or ketoconazole as these have all been shown in studies to improve dandruff and dry scalp.
