One of the main biomechanical reasons for PFJ (knee cap joint) pain is the ability for our hip to bend in everyday squat related tasks such as stairs, jumping, and running. When our hip bend is shallow, we will place a greater shearing force at our knee cap joint. Overtime, this can cause pain and trigger inflammation.
