SEARCH and RESCUE - The Barbados Fire Service, the Barbados Defence Force, and the Barbados Coast Guard were searching for a missing man who eyewitnesses say was swept away at Charles Rowe Bridge, St. George, after severe rainfall caused flooding across the parish. Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley and Minister of Home Affairs Wilfred Abrahams, along with emergency personnel, were on site overnight assessing the situation. Members of the Barbados Fire Service were still on the scene of a fire at Precision Electrical Service on Monday morning. This follows a chemical fire on Sunday which included pesticides, fertilizers, and plastics at the hardware store. That blaze triggered an advisory to avoid the Market Hill/Bel Air areas of St. George.
