MLB's biggest fireworks show of the summer takes place a little more than a week after July 4. The 2025 T-Mobile Home Run Derby is around the corner. Eight of the best sluggers in baseball will be swinging for the fences inside Truist Park in Atlanta on July 14.
Minnesota Twins star Byron Buxton, a Georgia native, will partake in the 2025 Home Run Derby. Major League Baseball made the announcement on Monday, a week before the Derby is slated to be held at Truist Park, the regular-season home of the Atlanta Braves.
Atlanta Braves star Ronald Acuña Jr. was the first to commit to the event, to be held at his home yard, Truist Park in Atlanta. However, one day after the field was finalized, MLB announced that his teammate Matt Olson would replace him.
Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. now has a limited itinerary for the upcoming MLB All-Star festivities. Acuna has officially been removed from the Home Run Derby, which is scheduled for Monday, July 14 in Atlanta. He has competed in the event before, reaching the semifinals in 2019 and the quarterfinals in 2022.
