LSU baseball first basemen Jared Jones was drafted on Monday. He'll join former teammate Paul Skenes in the Pirates org.

ATLANTA – After taking a high school infielder with their first pick in this year’s draft, the Houston Astros selected LSU outfielder Ethan Frey with their third-round selection (95th overall) on Sunday.

The LSU Tigers were linked to Oregon State right-handed pitcher James DeCremer III in the NCAA Transfer Portal with Johnson and Co. making a run for his services. The righty appeared in 14 games with three starts for the Beavers in 2025 where he went 3-0 with a 5.65 ERA and striking out 30 batters in 28⅔ innings pitched.

Former LSU baseball and current Pirates star Paul Skenes was named the NL's All-Star Game starter for the second consecutive season.
