Young campers and a dad saving his family were among the dozens killed in the historic flash floods that tore through central Texas over the holiday weekend.

Jonathan McComb, who lost his wife and two young children in a 2015 Texas flood, is volunteering to comb through debris in flooded areas of Kerr County, Texas. “They’re going through the worst part of their lives right now, and I did that. I know exactly how they feel,” he said.

In the wake of the disaster, a Facebook group titled "Found on the Guadalupe River" has become a digital lost and found for flood survivors. It was launched on Sunday by perfumer Dondi Persyn, who felt compelled to do something as she watched the flood's aftermath unfold.
