Qualcomm is finally working on a new wearables platform, and the specs look very promising compared to previous generations.

Qualcomm is reportedly developing a new Snapdragon chip for wearables that aims to significantly boost Wear OS smartwatch performance.

A report claimed Qualcomm had started testing an all-new Snapdragon chip for Wear OS watches that could supercharge them.

According to Android Authority insider Kamila Wojciechowska, Qualcomm is currently testing a new wearable chip, internally dubbed SW6100, and codenamed Aspen. While there’s no official branding just yet (W6 Gen 1? W5 Gen 2?), this leak gives us the clearest picture yet of where Wear OS hardware might be headed next.

Smartwatches are very popular, and for many reasons. They serve the basic purpose that a wristwatch should, which is telling the time. However, on top of that, you can use them to track notifications from your phone, answer phone calls, and record all sorts of health metrics that your phone can't come to doing. They're versatile little computers.

A "credible source" claims that Qualcomm has a new Wear OS chip coming with a few key upgrades to the overall package.

The new OnePlus Watch 3 43 mm complements the manufacturer's larger watch model with a 47 mm case, which was released at the beginning of 2025. The new version is not only more compact, but also dispenses with angular design elements around the rotating crown and button in favor of a circular design. The case is still made of stainless steel.
