The 2026 Grammy Awards telecast is underway in Los Angeles, after a three-hour-plus Premiere Ceremony leading into the primetime show at Crypto.com Arena airing live on CBS and Paramount+. Trevor Noah hosts.
Kendrick Lamar – who swept 2025 with wins in all five of his categories – leads with nine nominations, followed by Lady Gaga and producers Cirkut and Jack Antonoff with seven; and songwriter-turned-artist Leon Thomas, producer/engineer Serban Ghenea, pop princess Sabrina Carpenter and Super Bowl headliner Bad Bunny with six.
“Back to My Roots,” the latest of her more than 30 albums, earned Staton her fifth nomination (best roots gospel album) and her first since the 1987 ceremony. “I would love a Grammy,” she said in a recent interview, “to acknowledge all these years I’ve been singing.”
Lady Gaga earned seven nominations this year, topping her previous record of six in 2011. The Mother Monster landed nominations in three of four major categories: Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Gaga was tied with producers Jack Antonoff and Cirkut, who each nabbed seven nominations.
