Ronald Acuña Jr. hits two home runs as the Atlanta Braves crushed the Athletics 9-2 . Acuña's first homer was a massive leadoff shot and his second came in the fourth for his 14th career multi-homer game.

It might be too late for the Braves to turn their season around, but Riley finishing his season strongly would certainly go a long way toward getting Braves fans excited for 2026 and beyond. Riley is locked in long-term on the most lucrative deal in franchise history. Having him perform like the superstar Braves fans expect him to be is a big deal.

The Atlanta Braves revealed that they'll be putting two important pieces of team history on display in the Monument Garden at Truist Park. The bat and ball from Hank Aaron's legendary 715th career home run to pass Babe Ruth to be the home run king will be viewable to the public.

Atlanta native Butler, an alum of Westlake High, led off the game in electric fashion after hitting a long fly to right center that took a sharp bounce off the wall, as he sprinted around the full diamond for the inside-the-park homer. The Braves have now lost five straight and seven of eight.

Unless the Braves find a level of play that’s eluded them for months over the coming weeks, this team’s attention should shift to the future. The present is a lost cause.

Tuesday will see Jeffrey Springs take on a hot prospect in Didier Fuentes for Atlanta. Fuentes, 20, has made three starts for the Braves and is 0-2 with a 9.00 ERA and a 1.83 WHIP and has had trouble keeping his pitch count down to be able to eat some innings.
