For the second game in a row, the Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball team had a top ten team in the nation on the ropes, yet couldn't find a way to close it out. Iowa dropped a tight one to the No. 3 UCLA Bruins 67-65 in a game that saw them have a double-digit second-half lead.

Evelyn Bothmer, 99, was struck by an Iowa City Fire Department truck that was leaving the scene, according to an Iowa State Patrol crash report. Bothmer, who was described as a pedestrian, died at the scene. The truck was driven by Brandon Pflanzer, who is also president of the union representing the department's firefighters.

Lauren Betts had 22 points and 12 rebounds and Elina Aarnisalo made a pair of free throws with seconds remaining in a 2-point victory.

Elina Aarnisalo made two free throws with 3.8 seconds left to give No. 3 UCLA a comeback win at unranked Iowa on Sunday.
