Apple has announced the official release date for its newest operating systems, including iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26, watchOS 26, and others.

Apple finally lets the first PC emulator available to download on the iPhone and iPad's App Store.

Apple recently approved a new emulator app called UTM SE that enables your iPhone or iPad (or Vision Pro!) to masquerade as PC hardware and run honest-to-goodness computer desktop operating systems.

So the bottom line here is simple. iPadOS 26 does make the iPad Pro feel closer to a Mac and has made the iPad much more computer-like. But the MacBook Pro is the safer bet if you rely on those pro apps, coding, or heavy multitasking. The iPad will be a real computer when Apple adds multiple user login support.
