Host Trevor Noah presented Cher, 79, with the Recording Academy’s Lifetime Achievement Award during the Sunday, Feb. 1, ceremony. After delivering her acceptance speech, Cher walked off stage prematurely, forgetting that she was slated to announce Record of the Year.

Cher accidentally announced a dead singer as a Grammy Awards winner during Sunday’s ceremony. She was presenting one of the night’s top prizes, Record of the Year, and said “Luther Vandross,” who died in 2005.
