SpaceX successfully launched its Starship Flight 11 rocket into space, with its Super Heavy booster making a planned - and controlled - splashdown in the Gulf of Mexico.

The US space agency plans to use the mammoth Starship -- the world's largest and most powerful rocket -- in its efforts to return astronauts to the Moon.
