An atmospheric river is bringing heavy rain, breezy winds and mild temperatures across western Washington this week.

A frontal system arrives Sunday, March 29, bringing rain through much of the day and a late transition to a rain and snow mix for parts of the region Sunday night into Monday. Snow levels could drop toward pass elevations and may briefly dip to around 500 feet early Monday in the Central Sound convergence zone,

Under a convergence zone, there is a low-end chance for a rain-snow mix, even down into parts of the Puget Sound lowlands late Sunday night into very early Monday.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 5 a.m. Wednesday through 11 p.m. Thursday for snow in the Cascades. Several inches of snow are expected for the passes, especially above 3000'. Snow totals are looking to be between 4–8".
