There are few places in Southern Nevada more iconic. Located at 5200 S. Las Vegas Blvd. (just outside Las Vegas in Paradise), the sign has lit up the entrance to the Strip since 1959.

But walking along most trails in Southern Nevada, hikers are bound to see a bird or two if they’re quiet enough.
