One of two gubernatorial contests in the country this Election Day is shaping up to be a close race in New Jersey.

The race for governor of New Jersey is full steam ahead with just a few days to go until Election Day. Republican Jack Ciattarelli and Democrat Mikie Sherrill are crisscrossing the Garden State in a final push to sway undecided voters.

Guest Joe LoPorto of the New Jersey Firearms Owners Syndicate (NJFOS) agrees. He calls it a “coin flip” week out from Election Day. The names matter to gun owners, LoPorto stresses. He says Republican Jack Ciattarelli is running close against Democrat Mikie Sherrill in an open-seat contest.

Election Day is just 2 days away and the Governor races in New Jersey and Virginia mark the first major electoral tests of President Trump’s agenda. President and CEO of Voto Latino Maria Teresa Kumar and former Republican Congressman Joe Walsh join The Weekend to discuss the busy week ahead.

Virginia's Abigail Spanberger and New Jersey's Mikie Sherrill, moderate gubernatorial candidates on the ballot this November, are seen by some observers as a model for how Democrats can make a broad electoral appeal.

"A family comes into place when a man and a woman get married without the same sex," he said as the crowd cheered.

The Trump Administration will monitor upcoming elections in New Jersey and California following requests from Republican officials in the states. The Department of Justice (DOJ) said it will send observers to six counties in the November 4 elections “to ensure transparency, ballot security, and compliance with federal law.”
