The Yellow Submarine wants to sign the Portuguese center-back to strengthen their defense before the market closes.
Defender Renato Veiga has completed a permanent move from Chelsea to Villarreal for a fee rising to £26m. The 22-year-old joined the Blues from Basel for £12m in July 2024 and made 18 appearances for the club during the first half of last season.
A year after arriving at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea have made significant profit on their Veiga investment, selling him for more then double what they signed him for. With less than two weeks to go before the transfer window closes, the Blues are still working on a number of other departures to facilitate further signings.
