Cal Raleigh hit his 37th and 38th home runs of the season Friday night, pulling within one of Barry Bonds’ record for most homers before the All-Star break as the Seattle Mariners beat the Detroit Tigers 12-3 and snapped Tarik Skubal’s lengthy winning streak.

He made three appearances before he was optioned to Tacoma on April 5. He was recalled for one appearance April 26 and optioned back down to the Rainiers and placed on the 7-day injured list a day later with a left lat strain.

Cal Raleigh blasted his major league-leading 37th and 38th home runs, including a grand slam, and the visiting Seattle Mariners handed Detroit ace Tarik Skubal his first loss since April 2 with a 12-3 victory on Friday night.

Raleigh big night puts him one homer away from a record set by Barry Bonds — and ties him with a record set by Mickey Mantle.
