Ortega's sudden departure came days after "Love Island USA" viewers resurfaced some of her old social media posts.

Reality TV fans were left stunned Sunday night when Love Island USA 's Cierra Ortega was unceremoniously removed from the Love Island Villa. The show's voice over claimed that Cierra had left due to a “personal situation,” but fans know that's not the real reason Cierra left Love Island USA.

Cierra's departure follows that of fellow islander Yulissa Escobar, who left the show after videos of her using a racial slur on a podcast in 2021 re-emerged. Yulissa later apologised, saying on Instagram she used the offensive term "ignorantly, not fully understanding the weight, history, or pain behind it".
