Hundreds of thousands of Georgians have already voted in the 2025 election and many more will head to the polls on Tuesday.

There are some key races across the country that will help determine if Democrats have a chance at flipping the House in 2026.

The government shutdown has reached its 35th day, and now shares the record for longest-ever with the partial shutdown in 2018-2019, during Mr Trump’s first term. John Thune, the top Republican in the Senate, said he was “optimistic” (but not “confident”) that lawmakers will end the stalemate this week.

According to political analyst Michael Lange, younger voters are turning out in numbers that resemble the primary and he expects Mamdani to receive a significant number of Election Day votes that will likely put him well over the top.
