A Minnesota Democratic committee on Thursday revoked the party’s endorsement of mayoral candidate Omar Fateh, a democratic socialist challenging the incumbent Democratic mayor of Minneapolis.

The party decided to revoke the democratic socialist’s endorsement over concerns about errors in the endorsing convention.

Two House Democrats said they would examine whether Paramount Global and Skydance Media accepted “illegitimate demands” from President Donald Trump to secure approval of their July merger. Representatives Jamie Raskin of Maryland and Frank Pallone of New Jersey pointed to a financial settlement Paramount reached with the president shortly before the merger was approved and a statement Trump made that Skydance agreed to provide him with millions of dollars worth of free public service announcements.

Two top House Democrats are demanding documents and internal communications related to the federal approval process behind Skydance’s $8 billion acquisition of the media conglomerate Paramount, the parent company of CBS.

Rep. Nicole Collier is one of dozens of Democrats who fled Texas earlier this month to block a vote on a Trump-backed redistricting plan.

More Texas House Democrats spent the night at the state Capitol in Austin in support of Rep. Nicole Collier, who wasn’t allowed to leave the building after she refused to consent to a police escort. Texas House Republican leaders would only allow Democratic lawmakers to return to their homes if they signed waivers allowing law enforcement to shadow them until a vote on redistricting Wednesday.

Democrats said Republicans in the Texas House crossed a line by detaining them en masse and then assigning state troopers to trail them everywhere they go.
