Host Trevor Noah presented Cher, 79, with the Recording Academy’s Lifetime Achievement Award during the Sunday, Feb. 1, ceremony. After delivering her acceptance speech, Cher walked off stage prematurely, forgetting that she was slated to announce Record of the Year.

Things took a bit of a Travolta-esque turn when Cher was called on to announce the winner of Record Of The Year.

While Cher didn't appear in-person at the event, she received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2026 Grammys the next day, which created confusion
